You move to the web portfolio. Several different web sites shimmer in the distance.
Things that are here: a web application, some web sites

This page displays web applications and web sites that I have designed or helped design.

>web applications

These standalone applications solve a specific problem with a cross-platform web solution.

>web sites

These sites serve a variety of purposes. Except where noted, I am the designer and webmaster of each site.

beadsprites.com represents a now-defunct small crafts business that sells "beadsprites", fuse bead recreations of video game sprite art fashioned into magnets and coasters. I ran both the site and the business, with two friends serving as my business partners and site content contributors. Notable features of beadsprites.com include:

  • Searchable database of ~2000 sprites, all of which can be ordered as a product
  • Robust shopping cart functionality, with working PayPal checkout
  • Custom-made database management system
  • Semi-regular database updates with RSS notification

I serve as the webmaster for Purdue University's Society of Non-Theists, an atheist/agnostic/etc. student organization. The site was to be a mostly informational one, but up-to-date meeting information and updates were critical. I created the layout using an aesthetic design provided by the then-president, installed a modified CMS Made Simple, and generally established a site where all officers of the club could easily manipulate and add content.
